They lay at the second highest point of The Mendips, surrounded by well-known beauty spots. Cheddar Gorge, Chew Valley Lake, Charterhouse, Priddy, Blagdon Lake, Burrington Combe and England’s smallest city, Wells are all just a short drive away.
The barns sit within a private courtyard, invisible from outside the venue making it the ideal place to have your wedding or celebration. Complete privacy is assured and you won’t need to share facilities like parking, toilets or the bar area.
On one side of the courtyard The Former Milking Parlour is now a beautiful dining hall for up to 60 guests. This leads into The Garden Room, perfect for Signing the Register. It gives access to the South facing Garden and lawn. Our gardeners keep it colourful and fragrant, making it ideal for those special photographs. The barbeque is ready to light when you want it, or of course you could choose to have a Hog Roast.
Opposite the kitchen block are two buildings of special interest. One is a small self-contained cottage which can be the Bride and bridesmaids ‘Getting Ready Room’.
The big barn is the exciting and unique one which your guests will love and be talking about for a long time. Inside it we have fully restored a 1947 Fairground Ride, ‘The Dodgems’. These are loved by children of all ages as you can imagine! What a wonderful photo it will make as the Bride & Groom are pictured together in the ‘Just Married’ Dodgem Car!
On their special day the Wedding Party have exclusive use of the venue making a private wedding possible.
Catering
Off of the Courtyard is a fully fitted commercial kitchen which has direct access to the Dining Room. You are welcome to bring in your own staff to use the kitchen or use Outside Caterers. We have caterers who will give you great wedding breakfast options if you like.
Services
Our team will help you with you plans and suggest suppliers for everything you might need. If you want a Civil Ceremony that’s fine or if you prefer to have a Wedding Celebrant we can connect you to one who knows the barns well.
If you need a coach or mini-buses to bring your guests and take them home we can arrange that for you.
Flowers, photography, catering, Master of Ceremonies, we’ll help you find the right one for your wedding.
Having a Professional Magician performing Close Up Magic is very popular and we can introduce you to one who is a member of ‘The Magic Circle’ and will thrill your guests.
